Clearly. I can hardly wait to see what else he has up sleeve for the coming year! More interviews with porn stars? An expose on the kink behind the scenes on the Star Trek set? Who knows?

Shon's writing is amazing! I have been a fan for over three years and spent many hours going back through his archives to read all he has available. The Dr. Von Madd series is by far my favorite, but they all please and bring pleasure (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)!

Right on! You'll notice I haven't posted anything new here in a couple of weeks. Traveling for the holidays, offline work, regular household duties... it all adds up.

I've tried to post regularly for the past year. Turns out that, while blogging is fun, it's not *that* important to me. Just not worth the artificial pressure of stressing out each day about whether or not I've got a new post up.

I've got a few changes coming up for the new year. Adding more fun, less stress. That's what got me started in the first place.

That and the "instant riches" that sex blogging was supposed to bring. So far, that hasn't worked out, which is why I'm going to at least get more fun out of it.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

I know exactly what you mean. Maintaining a blog IS hard work. I'm baffled by friends of mine who not only have a fresh post every single day... but they also have a Facebook page and Twitter account with over a dozen daily updates. I mean... who has that much time? I think it's great (and helps build a following), but I just don't have that the time. I do update a couple of my Tumblr sites quite often, but those are just images.

I only update my Liquid Candy Tumblr site once or twice a month because, well... it's difficult finding good porn. Camille, Erika Lust, Andrew Blake, I Feel Myself... they've got it down, but the others... it can turn me on, but it's not artistic and certainly not something I'd post to that site. I wouldn't say hardcore porn turns me OFF like the Vietnam vet, but I only find one clip I'd masturbate to out of every 100+ I'd sift through. I am so tired of generic studio porn. There are some good directors in the hardcore genre, Jack the Zipper being one of them; the late David Aaron Clark (Asia Noir) was another. The fact is... studios are lazy.

So... while I'm not a sex blogger, I do post sexual content here and there (poems and short stories on my main blog, images and video to The Infinite Ache and Liquid Candy). It's not "fun", per se. It's work.

Agreed. I recall talking to a guy who lived up the street from me. He was a crusty old Vietnam veteran and I had just turned 15. I thought I had discovered sex and he had seen it all. "Son," he said, "there will come a day when the idea of looking up close at one more stranger's crotch will turn your stomach."

I didn't believe him then. I do now. Which is why I love The Art of Blowjob, by the way. Camille and Mike have elevated porn way beyond the level of five-minute crotch inspections. Loved your review of that site. May I repost it here?

Congratulations on your first year!

I think the biggest myth I ever ran into was that porn was something I would be happy to do every day. Some days roll around and the last thing I want to see are tits or a blowjob lol. Even porn bloggers need vacations.

The gun, huh? That makes three people now (including my wife) who weren't bothered by the sexual innuendo in the image, yet who *were* bothered by the gun. So far, I'm the only one who thinks the gun is no big deal but the sex is oh-so-wrong. My personal stance is that kids--especially little boys--are going to love, glamorize, and play with guns no matter what. Whether they represent power, authority, the ability to hunt large mammals, or anything else, that desire seems to be hardwired into our species. The gun, therefore, real or not, does not bother me.

Which is an interesting position, really, when you consider that I do not own a firearm and will not allow one in my house. But that's another can of worms best saved for a different post, I think.

Thanks for the comment (and the compliment)!
